Daily writing prompt
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

I remember when the sleep specialist saw me shaking my head and asked, “Why are you shaking your head ‘no’?” My cervical dystonia had been worsening, and I couldn’t stop the spasms the way I [think I] used to. At the time, I thought it was funny. But now it happens more than I’d like.

Since that time, my head has often said “no” for me when people ask me a question. Usually this happens at the doctor’s office. So I made a short GIF animation showing that scenario.

Note that I’m not really frustrated with the nurse or doctor when they assume I’m shaking my head no. I’m mostly just frustrated with the dystonia itself. I would like to speak for myself and not have my dystonia speak for me. 🙂

Do you ever get frustrated by a specific question that someone may ask you?
