I finally caved and bought a BeechBand.

What is a BeechBand?
Carl Beech was diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease and was facing health challenges that put him at an all-time low. When experimenting with tapping techniques and frequencies, he made a breakthrough, which led him to design BeechBand. The device is worn like a watch but only does one thing: It vibrates with a calming pulse and gentle buzzing.
This device started in the UK and has made its way over to the States. While it was designed by someone with Parkinson’s, a lot of folks in the dystonia community are eager to give this a try, and many have bought and tested it already. While this device could work for other physical and mental struggles as well (e.g., FND, anxiety), I specifically bought it to see if it eases my dystonia symptoms. I have cervical (neck) dystonia, laryngeal (vocal cord) dystonia, and oromandibular (mouth and jaw) dystonia.

The thought of using something so natural and non-invasive to treat my disorder is thrilling, to say the least! I would prefer to not use meds and have been looking at Botox shots. But I am trying the BeechBand (specifically the “BeechBand 100D”) first to see what kinds of results I get.
Usage Details:
The BeechBand has about a three-hour use time, and they recommend trying it twice a day, at least two hours a day, seven days a week (it takes about 45 minutes to charge). They also suggest giving it at least six weeks to be effective (they have a 100-day return policy!), and they suggest trying it on different wrists or even your ankles. Their information on usage can be found here: https://www.beechband.com/pages/beechband-user-guide
Honestly, I LOVE stuff like this. I am so excited about this product. These are the kinds of things I wish we saw more of: innovation to provide better quality of life without expensive medications or invasive procedures. And it sounds like the BeechBand has been successful for many people.

Of course, not everyone is experiencing success, and that can be difficult. I do appreciate that BeechBand recognizes that and has such a large return window (provided the device is still in good condition, of course). I am going to write a full review of the BeechBand after I feel like I’ve given it enough time to work (or not work — we’ll see!).
Here’s to “good, good, good, good vibrations” (BeechBand vibrations are not to be confused with Beach Boy vibrations 😂).
